A Personal Look Inside Serendipity Jewellery

This particular blog is all about the mind behind Serendipity Jewellery, namely, mine!

My name is Freya Lucy Elizabeth Cowin, you can find me listed as Freya Lucy Elizabeth on most popular social networking sites and this is my enterprise, and my adventure.

I'll not give away everything all in one blog (to be honest i very much doubt i could in one sitting!) So this is a summary of everything that motivates me to bring you, each individual you, a truly unique handmade statement that will represent your individual tastes, lifestyle, personality, indeed anything you want the peice to reflect.

I started to make jewellery as a hobby in 2010 after exiting an abusive relationship as a type of therapy, i have certain mental health issues and of course such a situation didn't help!

Since then i have gathered various skills with the art of jewellery making, which has caused customers at work, friends and family to say "oooh you should sell your creations" and in February 2014, i actually took the plunge and started to research what needed to be done. At this point I had just lost my job and found myself on JSA, and again i was using Jewellery as a therapy against mental illness, or rather against a severe relapse into the dark hole.

From there, given my stubbornness, rather than sit and feel sorry for myself, as we all do from time to time, i decided to put everything i had into marketing and promoting my creations. To my surprise my creations (that had previously just been hobbies) began to get rather popular, and i wondered if i could do better. This prompted a development in my amateur skill, and now i can provide many, much more professional pieces. Not only did my product development occur, but i started to take free marketing seminars, and subscribing to free marketing help blogs like Marketing Creatively, and this then helped me boost the reach of my creations, of which boosts my confidence into learning more new techniques and so the cycle goes on.






It is still VERY early days yet, but at this stage we have just registered formally with the Inland Revenue, we have events lines up for the next couple of months, we also have professional business cards and various social networking pages all to promote the business, and meanwhile i am in the background researching new gemstones, base metals, techniques, styles, fashions, timeless classics and trends to make sure i can bring the best of the best, to you, my customers.








So there is your teaser autobiography! As time goes on i'm sure i will tell you more about the long life i've lead which has given me the experience to be who and what i am today.
